Top Ten family activities this half term in Morlaix Bay

If you’re coming to Brittany this October half-term, chances are that you’ll be arriving in Roscoff so here are our top ten tips to make the most of Morlaix Bay this holiday. Even better, most of these activities are free or cost very little – so you can make the most of what’s on offer !

1. Swing like Tarzan : Ecopark at Penzé
Great for kids of all ages, the Ecopark will harness you up so you can safely do your Tarzan impression.
Unlimited access from 11€ to 20€ and you’ll get a great adrenaline fix !

2. Walk across the water to Ile Callot
Completely free to visit, this tiny island is home to a handful of families, and for much of the day is cut off by water – but at low tide, you can stroll across and explore on your own.
Just check the tides for coming back again !

3. Face the fear at the Wolf Museum
Perfect for Halloween, the Musée du Loup tells you all about wolves and their legends.
A bargain, too, at 4€ adults, 3€ kids and FREE for under 7s.

4. Scale the heights : Arrée Mountains
Not famed for our snowy peaks, Brittany nonetheless proudly invites you to the breath-taking majesty of the Monts d’Arrée, great for climbing, cycling, model aircraft and photos !

5. Take to the sea : watersports centre
If the family has always talked about trying sailing, surfing or paddle-boarding, now’s your chance ! Try the watersports centre at Carantec or the surf school in Locquirec. You’ll love it !

6. Trailblazing : hire a bike and discover the Green Ways
There are plenty of bike-hire spots in Morlaix Bay and countless bike trails, but for families, the mostly-flat Green Ways are the best ! Hire a bike in your Tourist Office and pedal off for adventure !

7. Explore Breton life
Offering FREE visits for under 12s, the Village Breton in Plouigneau shows what rural school life was like in the 1940s, but kids especially love the old farm machinery and traditional games.
Just 5€ for adults, 3.65€ for kids over 12, and some great photo opportunities.

8. Tour & Taste : oysters, cider or biscuits
French business has a strong tradition of inviting visitors for free to see the goods being made – and even taste a few ! Try cider, biscuits, oysters and more…

9. Step back in time : Barnénez Cairn
Come and visit a prehistoric site older than the pyramids : the Cairn de Barnénez. It’s an ancient burial chamber with stunning views !
